With their sophomore album, And Then I Woke Up, set for early next year, ‘LY’ is a glowing introduction from Ghent-based songwriter Jelle Denturck, AKA Dressed Like Boys. Seventies pop-inspired, buoyant melodies meet vintage keys and fuzzing guitars in this tape-shaped production.
Influenced by Elton John, Perfume Genius and David Bowie, ‘LY’ is charismatic, charming, and Dressed Like Boys have already had huge support from Radio in Canada, Norway, Czechia and the US to date.
Speaking about the track, Jelle explains:
“LY’ is about not taking life so seriously. Life isn’t a chore, it’s a dance. Even the nonsense lyrics are the point: it doesn’t always have to be heavy. Sometimes you just want to feel the sun on your face and walk lightly through the world.”
With festival appearances across Europe and two sold-out Antwerp shows, Denturck will support the upcoming album release with a Spring tour in 2027, expanding on their fast-growing international reach.
