GoodThing releases new single ‘Get Happy

Memories of summer afternoons shine brightly in GoodThing’s latest single ‘Get Happy’, which follows the EP I Like The Way I Feel. Combining Latin influences with effervescent psychedelia and a Madchester flair. Inspired by Gorillaz and Jungle, GoodThing’s creator, Jordan Bramley, draws influence from vintage sportswear and the films of Scorsese and Tarantino, building a product loaded with style.

Jordan explains:

“I wanted Get Happy to bring some of the feel-good warmth that summer brings when you’re young. The chorus has a vocal chant that features all my mates who came to the London show in August, so the whole thing just sounds like hanging out in the park with your friends to me; it was lovely to honour them on the record. We built the song around that chant and drew inspiration from artists like The Avalanches, chopping up samples from a totally different song we’d made, so the whole thing came together like a big collage. There’s a huge Madchester and South American influence in the groove too; I was thinking about how fun and carefree it was playing football as a kid or watching Ronaldinho, who looked like the happiest man alive.”

With shows upcoming in London and Brighton penned for this year, be sure to stream ‘Get Happy’ today:
