Independent pop artist Kris Kolls is expanding her growing catalog with “Just Jealous,” a personality-driven single that brings attitude, playful lyricism, and a refreshing sense of fearlessness to contemporary pop. Written and produced by Kris Kolls, the release showcases an artist increasingly comfortable defining her own creative direction.
There’s a theatrical quality to the concept behind “Just Jealous.” Rather than presenting herself as a flawless protagonist, Kris Kolls leans into the contradictions that make people interesting. She’s ambitious, outspoken, impulsive, and occasionally difficult, characteristics that become part of the song’s appeal rather than flaws requiring an explanation.
That willingness to embrace imperfection gives the release its personality. The songwriting balances a rebellious spirit with an unexpectedly generous perspective, particularly as the narrative moves toward celebrating another person’s individuality.
It’s an approach that reflects Kris Kolls’ wider artistic background. With experience in classical music, acting, and live performance, Kris Kolls has developed a multidisciplinary creative identity that incorporates music, movement, fashion, and visual storytelling.
Her independent career has already generated millions of streams and views across digital platforms, alongside recognition from publications including Rolling Stone UK, Flaunt, and Galore.
As Kris Kolls continues exploring the intersection of pop, R&B, and electronic music, “Just Jealous” offers another glimpse into her evolving artistic world.
It’s a release built around personality rather than perfection, proving that sometimes the most memorable statement an artist can make is refusing to edit themselves for anyone else’s comfort.
