Sabina Beyli Unveils “Everytime,” a Dark Alt-Pop Confession on Love, Pain and Control

Sometimes the hardest part of letting go is recognizing that the thing keeping you attached is also what’s hurting you. Sabina Beyli confronts that emotional contradiction on “Everytime,” her dark, emotionally charged new single, out November 6 via all major streaming platforms. Blending alternative pop with the darker edges of modern rock, the track explores the destructive cycle of craving intimacy with someone who continually tears you down. It also offers the first glimpse of Velvet Bruises, her forthcoming EP due in 2027.

At its core, “Everytime” examines a relationship in which affection gradually becomes a form of control. The closer the narrator tries to get, the further away genuine intimacy seems to drift, creating a painful cycle of emotional dependency. Rather than romanticizing that attachment, Beyli turns the song into an act of recognition: needing someone does not necessarily mean they are good for you.

“‘Everytime’ is about the moment you realise you’ve been confusing pain with attachment,” says Beyli. “Intimacy became a form of control, and the closer I tried to get, the further away I felt. Needing someone doesn’t mean they’re good for you, and this song is me finally saying that out loud.”

Recorded in Boston in 2026 with producer Azulenrosa, and mixed and mastered by Mike Midura (Ok Goodnight, Rilena), “Everytime” balances vulnerability with a palpable sense of resolve. Its emotional intensity sets the tone for Velvet Bruises, a project built around the idea of beauty emerging from damage. Exploring the alluring and destructive sides of wanting someone you know you shouldn’t, the EP signals a darker, more defined chapter in Beyli’s artistic evolution.

The single follows an encouraging run of releases throughout 2026. Both “Bones” and “Novocaine” earned placements on Apple Music’s New in Rock playlist, while “Novocaine” also landed on Deezer’s Heavy League playlist. Her earlier single “Bad Habits” has surpassed 160,000 Spotify streams, and she took the stage at The Alt Escape during The Great Escape festival in May.

Originally from Azerbaijan and now based in Los Angeles, Beyli began her musical journey at the age of five, after hearing Christina Aguilera in the car with her father. She went on to become a finalist on The Voice and made history as the first Azerbaijani woman to graduate from Berklee College of Music. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Paramore, Evanescence, Mitski, The Neighbourhood, and Pierce the Veil, she has developed a sound that moves between alternative pop, modern rock, and the more shadowy corners of mainstream music.

Her songwriting tackles self-image, relationships, betrayal, and internal conflict, transforming personal vulnerability into a source of strength. Previous collaborations with respected songwriters and producers including Skylar Mones, JD Walker, and Mike Midura have further shaped her evolving musical identity.

With “Everytime,” Sabina Beyli makes a compelling opening statement for Velvet Bruises, turning the complicated aftermath of emotional attachment into an unflinching piece of alternative pop-rock.
