INTERVIEW: Check The Star

Q:Hi Check, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

A. I’ve been blessed, just working hard, traveling, networking with a lot of dope talent, making good music, just living life as it comes really.

Q:Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Nascar”?

A: NASCAR is a collab I did with my artist Kktheintrovert. It’s actually a dope little narrative of us just living life to the max and how it has had it bad rolls but over all we come out winning. Let’s just say I drive fast everywhere and Kktheintrovert drives a motorcycle it’s def a nice little bop.

Q:Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

A: we actually freestyled the song having fun drinking some jack Daniels and smoking some blunts, next thing you know we’re talking about how shitty of drivers we are and how flashy we are.

Q:How was the filming process and experience behind the video?

A: we haven’t shot the video to nascar yet but there is another video I just dropped that’s really interesting it’s actually to raise awareness against drunk driving ft comedian DQ4EQUIS you have to go check that out.

Q:The single comes off your new album The Vincent Project – what’s the story behind the title?

A: Vincent is my son, his second name is chance this an album is about rebirth, a fresh start, a new me. I show people a more fun side of me I brought in more of my industry friends to join in it’s a really cool project.

Q:How was the recording and writing process?

A: I don’t write the recording process was fun over all this entire tape was done in two months, a lot of traveling and networking way more songs were done but I chose to keep a lot for later. Kcook, effeonthetrack, along with other dope producers got involved all of it was mixed and mastered at Top Sound Studios in Tampa, Florida even if I had to bring my guy Cook the stems we got it done the right way.

Q:For the album you brought some special guests – did you handpick them or how did they come on board?

A: I hand picked the people I thought were fitting and I knew more on a personal level like jesusthehoncho, kktheintrovert, pesowavy, 458keez, hoolie, famouskidbrick all have played a big roll in who I am as an artist today why not add them along other dope artists like young chi man this guy has been grinding his sound is what I call a thug cry you gotta check him out too. Swavor that’s the bro he’s coming with some trap rock meets jig idk i fuck with bro he’s always showed me love, I added my boy lightskinmarcus in there Bc we did like 5 songs and this one just stuck out to us we ain’t even drop it yet and we found our selves singing it and our friends that we would play it to then there’s, Juan hunna we got a special little single coming for y’all I love this guys flow and delivery we dropped a song called 2k on this album just shot the video stay tuned for that I can’t give you to much on that just know we did something crazyyy and fun, I wish I could add more people but the tape was already a little long shout out out to yzm.

Q:What did they bring to the table?

A: Everything, God allowed me somehow pull this together along side these talented producers artists and my dope Engeneer “Cook”.

Q:Do you tend to take a different approach when working with someone else rather than working on your own?

A: no I pretty much just have fun and go off the vibe.

Q:How has the likes of Anthony Green and Lil Wayne influenced your writing?

A: I don’t write but when I sing I find my self using a cadence or flow similar to his style same with Wayne and my double to triple meanings.

Q:Where did you find the inspiration for the songs and lyrics?

A: working myself and experiences I’ve endured.

Q:What else is happening next in CheckTheStar’s world?

A: you have to stay tuned follow me on all platforms and engage with me I write all my fans all my peers on the daily just know I have a lot in the vault already it’s not about to stop.

  1. Been listening to this guy since, well, high-school! Mind you thats before the name “Check” came about or was even thought of. I’ve seen the struggles this man has gone through to get where he is to say, and I gotta say, he’s just been setting up the rungs to make a fast paced climb to the top. If anyone deserves to be at the top, its him. If anyone has earned their place, its him. Dope AF music that gets you thinking if you want or turned up if you want to turn off. Keep an eye on this guy, if he’s made it this far this fast, he can only go further. “Hey Mr. Carter, I heard you were looking for him”.

  2. Check makin it happen yo!!! Everyday!👀

  3. Check out doing big things 🤟🏼🖤

  5. Self made, and dedicated to his art. Really brought a whole new sound to Tampa .🔥🔥🔥🔥
