YOASOBI unveil new song “Sakihokore (The Bloom),” Music video out today

oday, J-Pop superstars YOASOBI unveil their new song, “Sakihokore (The Bloom),” the official theme song for the NHK morning drama (Asadora), “Blossom”—listen here. Alongside the release, they debut their brand-new music video—watch here.

Inspired by the original novel from Risa Wataya (Keritai Senaka, Watashi wo Kuitomete, Pakki Paki Beijing), “Sakihokore” tells the tale of a protagonist forging her own path as she moves through the turbulent Meiji, Taisho, and Showa eras. The song features YOASOBI’s first-ever recording with a live orchestral ensemble, as well as acoustic unit Plusonica, who joined for backing vocals and percussion.

The release comes on the heels of YOASOBI’s rooftop performance at the Grammy Museum® in Los Angeles, their historic BlizzCon performance and the conclusion of their Never Ending Stories tour, which took the duo across North America. The landmark tour featured venues including TD Garden, Climate Pledge Arena, and Barclays Center, alongside festival stops at the Main Stage of Lollapalooza and their Canadian debut at OSHEAGA, before wrapping at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. The tour across six shows drew more than 70,000 fans.
