1. Please introduce yourself and what made you want to become a musician.
I’m Mirriam Musonda-Salati, a gospel artist whose music is rooted in faith and testimony. My journey began with a strong desire to share my story and encourage others through song.
2. Who has been your most influential teacher or mentor?
The Holy Spirit is my greatest guide. I also draw strength from family and spiritual mentors who have supported my calling.
3. Favourite and least favourite music genres?
Gospel is my core, but I love blending it with Afrobeat, reggae, R&B, and country. I respect all genres when used with purpose.
4. Greatest weakness as an artist?
I sometimes push myself too hard without taking enough rest. Learning balance has been key.
5. Favourite song and why?
“I Am Surrendered to Your Will” was my first single. It came from a deep place of personal surrender and still resonates powerfully with me.
6. How would you classify yourself as a music artist?
A gospel recording artist who blends traditional and modern styles to spread messages of hope and faith.
7. Who inspired you to join the music industry?
God, first and foremost. I’m also inspired by gospel artists like Sinach, CeCe Winans, and Travis Greene.
8. Is studying old music and history important?
Yes—it gives depth, understanding, and honors those who paved the way.
9. Where have you performed? Any upcoming shows?
I’ve performed at church events and community gatherings like the BGSM Praise Concert. Live worship sessions are in the works.
10. What’s next for you?
New music and videos are on the horizon, along with mentoring rising gospel talents.
11. How did your music video idea come about?
The concept was birthed in prayer. Every scene was designed to reflect hope, healing, and spiritual breakthrough.
12. Advice for young music makers?
Be authentic. Stay rooted in your message, remain prayerful, and don’t chase trends—purpose comes first.
