My Satellite Returns with Their Long-Awaited Follow-Up Album ‘Person’

Since its formation in 2009, My Satellite have built a reputation for their passion for alternative soundscapes and authentic rock-esque backbeats. Hailing from Los Angeles, California, the band are back in 2025 with their long-awaited sophomore album ‘Person’.

Kicking things off with the jazzed-up anthem ‘Minotaur’, My Satelite demonstrate their sonic mastery right off the bat. Building tension quickly, the album kicks off with a climactic explosion, a suggestive hint into the journey the album is about to take you on. As the tracks continue to flow, the group’s bass-driven grooves arrive in front of pummeling beats. Coupling together psychedelic toplines and alt-rock foundations, ‘Person’ is equal parts exciting and emphatic. Taking the form of a concept album, ‘Person’ explores the journey of relationships and how they evolve. Utilising their vast musical understanding and ability, My Satelite turn their hands to storytelling with their masterful grasp of contemporary music making.

Diving into the new project, the band explain, “About two years after the release of our last album LIFT, we were looking to take our sound somewhere new and uncharted for us. We set out to make the psychedelic album that we would want to listen to – an album that would impact others in the same way that Stevie Wonder, Radiohead and Tame Impala albums have us. One that put importance on the perfect bass line and drum groove, was incredibly maximalist at times, wasn’t scared of being too much or too bizarre, and most importantly was a singular work of art that is more than the sum of its parts. We spent eight years writing, tweaking, rewriting, mixing, and remixing to get to a final version that we are immensely proud of. PERSON is an unpredictable, psychedelic ride about the birth and death of a relationship with all its highs and lows. It is a journey that, much like a relationship, leaves you intact yet somewhere different from where you started.”
