HOOFA Reflects in Introspective Jangly Pop Single ‘Brother’

Continuing a long string of 2020 releases, Hoofa returns with new single ‘Brother’ on September 11th, 2020.

Last month the fast-rising DIY duo considered the true cost of being a self-made musician in 2020 with their single ‘How Do We Know’. This time, they look inwards and reflect on the often turbulent life growing up with siblings.

Lead singer James’ instantly beguiles with his notable falsetto vocals and the lush ambi-track quickly picks up into the jangly-pop and playful “Hoofa sound” that we’ve come to know and love so well, as James reflects nostalgically on his childhood with his brothers.

Alan explains further;

“Brother is an introspective song about looking back at growing up with siblings. Like most, James fought and argued with his brothers, and they often fell out about minor things, but despite it all they’ll always be his brothers. The song’s verses are from different sections of James’ childhood – fighting and breaking bones in the earlier years and then playing silly games to keep yourself busy when you can’t sleep at night and sharing a bunk bed, to growing apart whilst at university and then leaving the country.”
