The origin of Louis on Tour is not one of calculated industry design, but rather a decade-long chain reaction of chance encounters and unwavering creative drive. Based in the Arizona desert, the four-piece ensemble is the result of years of “falling dominoes”—from teenage garage sessions and cross-country moves to a perfectly timed email that solidified their identity.
The Foundation
The band’s core was forged in high school when guitarists Nick Kahlor and Jesse Martinez began a musical partnership that would outlast their early projects. Under the moniker Elena Avenue, the duo navigated the gauntlet of DIY touring and battle-of-the-bands competitions. While the project eventually dissolved, the creative chemistry between Kahlor and Martinez did not. They continued to write and rehearse without a clear roadmap, fueled by a shared refusal to abandon their craft.
The Convergence
The rhythm and voice of Louis on Tour arrived through a series of improbable coincidences. Drummer Sam Green, a St. Louis native from a lineage of percussionists, relocated to Phoenix at the exact moment a friend—who happened to be storing Sam’s drum kit—made the same move. A chance meeting outside a rehearsal studio between Sam and Jesse turned a logistical fluke into a musical foundation.
The final evolution occurred when the group received an inquiry from vocalist Rilee Rosauer. An Oregon native with a background in classical piano and a lifelong instinct for songwriting, Rilee moved to Arizona seeking the collaborative energy of a full band. Her audition was transformative; her arrival didn’t just fill a vacancy—it redefined the band’s sonic trajectory.
The Lineup
• Nick Kahlor (Guitar): Nick’s journey began when his father bypassed a video game request in favor of a real guitar and a modest amplifier. What started as a teenager’s cure for boredom evolved into a fifteen-year dedication to technical growth and songwriting.
• Jesse Martinez (Guitar): For Jesse, music served as a vital anchor through years of personal upheaval. Despite financial hardship and housing instability, his Fender Squier remained a constant. His resilience is the bedrock of the band’s emotional depth.
• Sam Green (Drums): A multidisciplinary creative, Sam balanced a career in high-level brand development and data narrative at Anheuser-Busch and Carvana with a lifelong commitment to percussion. His move to Phoenix reunited him with his kit and provided the rhythmic engine for the band.
• Rilee Rosauer (Vocals): Drawing from a childhood of kitchen-table duets and piano study, Rilee approaches music as a “shepherd” of melody. Her ability to translate internal compositions into powerful vocal performances serves as the band’s focal point.
The Next Chapter
Louis on Tour is a testament to the idea that the best things are rarely planned, but they are always earned. Following years of persistence and a series of “ordinary” moments that became extraordinary, the band is currently preparing for their most ambitious chapter yet.
Their highly anticipated new EP is slated for release in 2026.
