“Looking Forward to the Past” is the latest release from Cyrus’ highly anticipated forthcoming album, From Now On, due out March 13 via Billion Streams Entertainment. The eight-track album also includes previously released songs “From Now On,” “Here in the Middle” featuring Sierra Lundy, last fall’s “As Long As You Stay,” which marked Cyrus’ first recorded duet with sister Noah Cyrus, and “Know This,” featuring his sister, global superstar Miley Cyrus. The latter recently reached No. 40 on Billboard’s Adult Alternative Airplay chart – currently in its second week – making Braison the latest member of the Cyrus family to land on a Billboard chart, alongside sisters Miley and Noah Cyrus, brother Trace Cyrus, and father Billy Ray Cyrus.
From Now On marks Cyrus’ first full-length project since his 2021 narrative-driven psychedelic folk debut, Javelina, which was praised as “an unexpectedly brilliant debut.” Self-produced in a small Nashville studio and featuring a range of collaborators, the new album represents Cyrus’ boldest work to date – a time capsule of personal reckoning, creative rebirth, and an artist fully coming into his own.
