Moody Joody Build Momentum with New Single “Little Blue House” + Video

Continuing to ramp up anticipation for the release of their forthcoming new album due later this year, rising pop trio Moody Joody are back with a fuzzy guitar-anchored chant-along earworm via their latest single, “Little Blue House” – a cheeky take on what may or may not be hiding in plain sight.

What’s going on in the little blue house?/Whatever it is I want to know about,” co-lead vocalist/guitarist Kaitie Forbes and co-lead vocalist/synth player Kayla Hall sing with devilish curiosity.

Coinciding with the single release, Moody Joody have also released the song’s quirky, darkly hilarious music video. Watch it HERE.

“This song came from some reflection on my teenage years and remembering my intense curiosity,” Forbes says. “I grew up in a town where everyone’s lives looked very similar and it was such a bubble that when I realized there was more out there I became so intrigued. This song comes from yearning and intense curiosity on how other people are living their lives and doing things their own way. The little blue house for me represents that life I dreamed of: indie music, exploration, rebellion, self confidence and true self expression.”

“‘Little Blue House’ is dedicated to anybody that knows the feeling of growing up playing ding dong ditch, kick the can and ghost in the graveyard in their neighborhood,” adds Hall. “This song evokes the nostalgic feeling for me of a day of riding bikes with friends in the cul-de-sac, daydreaming about what’s going on in the neighbors’ house, and then laying on the bedroom floor pressing play on a silver boombox with an LFO CD. ‘Little Blue House’ feels like something completely different than anything we’ve put out thus far and is a little Easter egg towards our album!”

Multi-instrumentalist/producer Andrew Pacheco adds, “I was visiting my parents in New Jersey and listening to ‘Genius of Love’ by Tom Tom Club, thinking about how fun it would be for us to have a song with a groove like that. I almost never make a track before we start writing, but I just opened my laptop and started making a drum loop that became the backbone of ‘Little Blue House.’ It’s a quirkier song for us that took a couple sessions to really hash out the writing and arrangement, but we had so much fun just leaning into the playful curiosity of the song.”

It’s been a thrilling past year for Moody Joody as the band continues to build strong momentum with their recently released single “Loretta’s Last Call,” which received support from Sirius Alt Nation and major playlists including Amazon’s Breakthrough Pop, Spotify’s New Music Friday, All New Pop, Pop Sauce + much more! They kicked off the new era of music with the first single  OOPS!, co-written with GRAMMY-nominated hitmaker Scott Harris (Shawn Mendes, Dua Lipa, Justin Bieber). So far, Moody Joody has amassed 21M+ global streams, with their new singles and debut EP Dream Girl earning coverage from Rolling Stone, Notion, The Fader, MTV and more. They’ve also performed at SXSW and Austin City Limits and toured with The Maine, Smallpools, Misterwives, and ARIZONA. The group is currently gearing up for the release of their highly-anticipated, in-the-works and forthcoming new debut full-length album due later this year.
