There’s a quiet confidence running through Sleepwalking, the new EP from Jessie Altman out March 6th, and it doesn’t need to shout. Across four tightly constructed tracks, Altman leans into illusion, identity, and the uneasy space between comfort and clarity. The result is her most cohesive body of work to date, and the clearest sign yet that she’s entering a defining chapter of her career.
Let’s be direct, Jessie Altman is an artist to watch in 2026. Not because the industry says so– her music speaks for itself.. With Sleepwalking, she doesn’t just suggest she’s ready for the next level, she proves it.
The title track unfolds like a slow realization, capturing the feeling of drifting through life on autopilot. Her vocal delivery is restrained but emotionally charged, pulling listeners into tension rather than overpowering them. It’s subtle. It’s intentional. It echoes.
“For this project, I wanted to explore the idea of illusion, how it can both protect us and seduce us,” Altman explains. From the introspection of “Mirror Mirror” to the blurred perception of “Trick of the Light” and the intoxicating pull of “Hypnotic,” the EP traces the moment of awakening, even when it’s uncomfortable.
Produced by Jason Lehning and mixed by Craig Alvin, Sleepwalking feels cinematic without being overproduced. The arrangements leave space for Altman’s voice, and that space is where the impact lands. There’s no filler. No trend chasing. Just sharp songwriting and a clear artistic point of view.
If this EP is any indication, we’re watching the beginning of something much bigger. Altman isn’t emerging anymore. She’s ascending.
