Despite a stop-work order — construction reportedly continued in January 2026. Authorities later confirmed that only basic registration documents existed — but proper permits had not been secured.

In March 2026, a published investigation reported financial difficulties within the company behind the Bali projects. The Indonesian director of the registered entity stated that company funds had at times been very low, and the business was under financial pressure. Issues with construction funding and unpaid contractors had already reached the courts. Formal complaints have also been filed against McIntyre.
Marina Bay City Dispute
One of McIntyre’s largest promoted projects is Marina Bay City, a beachfront development in South Lombok marketed as a major international destination. He has claimed ownership and sold investment opportunities linked to the project.
However, official partners involved in the development have disputed these claims. According to their statement, McIntyre’s ownership assertions are inaccurate and do not match official records. They explained that an agreement for partial ownership was never completed because required payments were not made.
Legal action has been started by companies connected to the project — as well as some investors have reportedly requested refunds totaling millions of dollars.
