Mandy, Indiana present the new single “Sicko! (feat. billy woods),” the final preview of their anticipated new album, URGH, out Friday via Sacred Bones. Built on a stark, forward-driving techno framework, “Sicko!” pairs Mandy Indiana’s eviscerating sound with billy woodsʼ unmistakable vocals. The accompanying video is a multi-director collaboration where seven filmmakers each create a distinct visual segment of the track, released as an interactive carousel and also assembled into a full-length visual.
The band elaborates: “Social media has changed the way we consume art and music, often meaning that we rarely see a full music video in the way it was intended to be experienced. For ‘Sicko!’ we wanted to try something different, leaning into the way people consume art on social platforms. We asked creators to make 30 second films based around ‘sickness’ as a theme, drawing inspiration from the track. It was an experiment to see what a music video might be like if we present distinct, often conflicting, visual styles side-by-side. The videos were then matched with different sections of the track in a sequence that felt right. By moving through and watching each short, you will hear the full song.”
On collaborating with billy woods, the band comments: “We wanted to create something with an artist we love, whoʼs been inspiring to us. woods is such a unique voice in hip hop, his words are so expressive and this track definitely adds a different dimension to the record.”

On URGH, Mandy, Indiana is a force of uncanny nature, grafting together a record that is as much a call to action as a parlay into oblivion and transcendence. It finds the band expanding their far-reaching sound with each member — vocalist Valentine Caulfield, guitarist and producer Scott Fair, synth player Simon Catling, and drummer Alex Macdougall — actively taking part in the songwriting process.
URGH is deeply personal, yet also reflects the violent, fractured state of the wider world as Caulfieldʼs lyrics grapple with sexual assault, systemic indifference, and the omnipresence of pain. While most of the lyrics are in her native French, the emotional clarity cuts through regardless of language.
Co-produced and co-mixed by Fair and Daniel Fox of Gilla Band, much of URGH was written during an intense residency at an eerie studio house in the outskirts of Leeds and recorded across Berlin and Greater Manchester. The process was shaped by adversity with both Caulfield and Macdougall undergoing multiple rounds of surgeries in the same time frame as the album was being written and recorded. The harrowing experience and the exhaustion of their respective recoveries bleed into the surreality of Caufieldʼs writing, blurring the line between inner turmoil and external chaos.
Following their acclaimed 2023 debut, iʼve seen a way, URGH sees Mandy, Indiana interpolating their own unconventional language into a mantra for self-determination and resilience, forging a template for a brighter future before it fades to black.
