Hailing from the Icelandic countryside, Valborg Olafs returns to the limelight as she unleashes her emphatic new single ‘Breathe With Me’. Inspired by the beauty of her surroundings, the release is Olaf’s first outing since ‘Shackles’ last year.
With its roots embedded in rich, layered textures, ‘Breathe With Me’ offers an almost ethereal view into the artistry of Valborg Olafs. Crossing striking synthesis with a vivid emotional clarity, the single lays down a refreshing addition to the world of alternative pop, filled with a gentle folk-tinged ambience whilst celebrating the boundless nature of the natural world.
Speaking about the release, she explains, “‘Breathe With Me’ came to me one morning as I sat in the kitchen drinking my first cup of coffee. I lit a candle and found myself thinking about writing exactly this, about arriving here beneath the mountains “Eyjafjöll”, where there is calm and a deep stillness in nature.”
