1.) We’re super-excited to be speaking today with acclaimed Dubai-based producer and music artist extraordinaire O.G. FM; greetings and salutations O.G. and many thanks for carving time from a very busy schedule to speak with us and our ever-inquisitive readers here at Vents Magazine! Before we dive into the Q&A mosh-pit, how are the final days of 2025 finding you and yours?
The final days of 2025 are finding us in a state of “creative chaos”—the best kind! Dubai is buzzing this time of year, and the energy in the city always seems to fuel my late-night studio sessions. My family and I are just soaking in the gratitude for a landmark year and gearing up for what’s next.
2.) Major kudos and accolades on your freshly-minted new single Trust Me which is lighting up record charts across the ever-loving globe even as we speak! Starting at the top, can you talk about what inspired this stunner of a release?
Thank you! Honestly, Trust Me was inspired by the realization that we all go through moments where the world feels a bit too heavy to carry alone. I wanted to create a track that acts as a sonic safety net. The inspiration came from the idea that, no matter how dark or chaotic things get, there is always someone—whether it’s a friend, a partner, or even a higher power—who is ready and willing to support you. No matter what. I wanted the music to capture that specific feeling of relief when you stop struggling and realize you’re being looked after. My goal was to turn that emotional support into a sound that can actually relieve pain and replace it with a positive, ‘everything-is-going-to-be-okay’ energy. It’s a song for anyone who needs a reminder that they aren’t walking this path by themselves.
3.) Trust Me deftly fuses future bass and future pop into a fun and party-like anthem! Going into the production of the song, was the combination of various genres of music always the plan, or did this come about more organically while in the studio?
It was definitely an organic evolution. I rarely walk into the studio with a rigid “genre map.” I started with a heavy, pulsating bassline (hence the label name!) and as the melody developed, it naturally pulled in those shimmering, cinematic Future Pop elements. To me, music is a liquid; it shouldn’t have to stay in one container.
4.) In your humble opinion, what differentiates Trust Me from the Distinguished Competition on the 2025 music landscape?
In the 2025 landscape, there’s a lot of incredible technical production, but sometimes the “soul” gets lost in the software. I think “Trust Me” stands out because it pairs high-fidelity sound design with a raw, human vulnerability. It’s a “mosh-pit” track that actually has something to say to you when the lights go down.
5.) You released Trust Me via your own Bassline Ballistic Records! How did Bassline Ballistic Records come into being?
Bassline Ballistic Records was born primarily out of a deep-seated need for absolute creative freedom. I wanted a space where I could do whatever I wanted musically—to experiment, break rules, and follow my intuition without having to ask for permission. But beyond my own work, I realized I wanted to build a space that could lift others up. The vision for the label is to be a support system for other artists. Whether it’s through collaboration projects or me stepping in to produce their tracks, I want to help them refine their sound to meet the highest global music standards. It’s about taking that raw talent and providing the production expertise and the label capabilities to make sure their music is heard exactly as it was meant to be. It’s a home for high standards and total artistic independence
6.) You handled the production honors on Trust Me. What are the pros to serving as your own producer versus outsourcing the job to a Norman Petty or a Rick Rubin-type?
The biggest pro is the “unfiltered” factor. When you work with a legend like Rubin or others, you’re looking for their “ear,” which is incredible. But for “Trust Me,” I needed it to be 100% my DNA. Serving as my own producer means there’s no translation layer between my brain and the speakers. Every glitch, swell, and drop is exactly how I felt it.
7.) Trust Me is an electric and fun experience to listen to, and it also feels as if it signifies an entirely new chapter in your musical life; congrats! Can you give fans a hint or three as to what they can expect and look forward to hearing from you and Bassline Ballistic Records in 2026?
If 2025 was about making an entrance, 2026 is about expanding what we have. You can expect three things: more unexpected releases (collabs potentially), a deeper dive into immersive audio experiences, and perhaps a full-length project that tells a much larger story than a single can hold. Bassline Ballistic is just getting warmed up.
8.) Who are some of the folks both in and out of the world of music who have inspired your own unique and indelible pathway?
Musically, I’ve always been moved by the sound-design pioneers—people like Skrillex who redefined what a “texture” could be—but also the classics like Bob Marley for that underlying soul. Outside of music, the city of Dubai itself is my biggest muse. The way it rose from the sand through pure vision and “ballistic” ambition is something I try to mirror in my musical career.
9.) In the wake of the release of Trust Me, can audiophiles look forward to catching you on the performance circuit?
To be honest, I don’t have any performance plans at the moment. Right now, my energy is entirely focused on the craft—diving deep into the studio to explore new music, fresh ideas, and pushing the boundaries of the Bassline Ballistic sound. I’m in a very prolific creative phase, and I want to honor that by staying grounded in the production process. However, in this industry, I’ve learned to never say never—nobody knows exactly what tomorrow brings, so we’ll see where the music takes us next!
10.) At the end of the day, what do you hope listeners walk away with after giving many-a-listen to your dancefloor anthem Trust Me?
I hope they walk away feeling empowered. If “Trust Me” can give someone that three-minute burst of calmness and positive confidence to take a risk or trust their gut, then I’ve done my job. I want it to be the soundtrack to people’s “win” moments.
