Capping off a banner year, multi-hyphenate performer, singer, songwriter, actor, and activist Frankie Grande serves up a brand new single and music video entitled “I Don’t Remember It” out now via Casablanca Records. Listen HERE. Watch the official music video HERE.
The track tightens up a head-nodding rhythm with cinematic synths and glistening keys. The momentum builds, and Frankie reclaims the prom night he never quite got to have back in high school. Melodies take flight, and raw and relatable feelings overflow from the chorus.
The accompanying visual rewinds the clock, following our hero as he returns to high school for prom once again. Two parallel universes co-mingle, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy.
About the single, he said, “I don’t really remember my prom because I wasn’t living as I am now and went with a girl. So, this song is me rewriting that night in my mind, reclaiming it, and giving myself the prom I always dreamed of… the one where I get to show up fabulously, fearlessly, and slow-dance with the boy I always wished I’d taken.”
The song lands in the wake of Hotel Rock Bottom (Deluxe). The latter boasts the fan favorite duet version of “Hotel Rock Bottom” featuring his sister Ariana Grande. Listen HERE.
In other news, Frankie is currently sharing the stage with drag icon and winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Global All Stars, Alyssa Edwards, and drag queen sensation Kori King on the “Slay Ride” Holiday Spectacular Tour. Presented by OUTLOUD, the nine-city tour brings a different kind of festive cheer to venues coast-to-coast. Blending live music, drag, dance, and comedy, the tour kicked off yesterday with a performance in West Hollywood, CA. Tonight, they will head to Denver, CO, followed by gigs across Texas, Kentucky, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and more.
