Pleasure Victim look to end the year on a high as they finally draw back the curtain on their latest album, ‘Berlin’. Consisting of married couple Taylor and Allison, the project marks a significant milestone for the band, having been started during the devastation of Hurricane Helene in 2024.
The project stands its ground as a boundary-pushing body of work, taking the nostalgic capabilities of new wave, and revolutionising them with an ardent, effortlessly modern twist. ‘Berlin’ highlights both sides of the band’s artistry, being able to provide upbeat, electrifying floor fillers, whilst also testing the limits with their brooding, undeniably unique approaches to instrumental.
Speaking about the process of creating the album, the Taylor explains, “For me, ‘Berlin’ is less about a real place and more about a state of mind. It’s a dream city that anyone can have in their heart. It could be a place you’ve lost, or a place you can only really go to in your imagination. Art can bring these dreams to life, and that’s why I made this album.”
