Wassgud — it’s Buckz. At just 21, Ford Buckz is carving his lane in hip-hop with a hunger fueled by struggle, growth, and fatherhood. Born in Roanoke, Virginia, and later moving to Washington, D.C., Buckz found music in the halls of his father’s home. What began as a way to connect with his dad soon became his own passion and purpose.
“Life’s had its ups and downs,” Buckz admits. His teenage years were wild, full of lessons learned the hard way. Now a father himself, his motivation runs deeper than ever — every verse, every bar, every late-night recording session is about changing his family’s story. “My purpose is my family,” he says simply. “Without them, none of this would matter.”
His music is raw and real, pulling from pain and perseverance. Buckz doesn’t sugarcoat his journey. Whether he’s reflecting on loss or celebrating progress, his songs are about pushing through and staying focused on the bigger picture. “Jay or Pac,” his latest single, hit 2.3k views in just two weeks — a small victory that means everything to an artist building from the ground up.
When it comes to process, Buckz keeps it authentic. Most of his tracks start with a beat that speaks to him, then he locks in with BandLab, freestyling and letting emotion guide the lyrics. He’s been recording every day, aiming to make at least one new track daily.
For Buckz, music isn’t just expression — it’s survival and legacy. His message is simple: if you don’t like where you are, change it. Hard work and belief can take you anywhere.
