Hailing from the USA, producer Tunnel returns to the limelight as he draws back the curtain on his latest album, ‘Personas’. Following the release of the teaser single ‘Control’, released earlier in the summer, he looks to embolden himself as a rising electronic talent.
Consisting of ten tracks, the album offers a masterclass in sound design and composition, sporting melodies that cut deep and a brooding energy that hangs low across the airwaves. Just as the name suggests, ‘Personas’ plays host to a wide range of sonic exploration that truly highlights the creative vibrance of Tunnel. Featuring collaborations with artists Lilith Burke and Darkcloud, ‘Personas’ proves that Tunnel shows no signs of slowing down.
Commenting on the project, he explains, “With Personas, I wanted to break free from the constraints of a specific genre and create something that reflects the range of my musical obsessions, while building a narrative throughout,” says Tunnel. “The album reflects something that doesn’t fit into a neat and easily described box. It’s a sonic journey, shifting and evolving like a living entity, all in the service of emotion and a narrative of personal transformation. It’s equal parts dystopian and hopeful. I love music that refuses to play by the rules of specific genres, and Personas is my way of embracing that ethos.”
