UK’s alt-rock powerhouses Nova Twins are back today with their own rendition of Doechii’s viral track “Anxiety” as part of the renowned Spotify Singles Series, alongside a live version of “Piranha”. Known for their genre-bending sound, Nova Twins craft something totally new from familiar foundations by reimagining the delicate Gotye-inspired beats of Doechii’s “Anxiety” through the lens of their electrifying, energetic heavy guitar sound. Listen HERE and catch them performing at Glastonbury at Woodsies at 4:30pm on Saturday, June 28th.
“Doechii is such a visionary, whose creativity is really pushing things forward,” the band shares. “When we were choosing a track to cover, ‘Anxiety’ stood out because it’s already been flipped, which made it more of a challenge. We wanted to push ourselves and step outside our comfort zone.”
The track will be showcased within Spotify’s Glastonbury 2025 hub, home to countless hours of music from around 30 individual stage line-ups, as well as wider podcast and audiobook content related to this year’s festival for ticket holders and fans to explore. The hub is also home to the official personalised Glastonbury 2025 playlist! This release is timed to coincide with Glastonbury, as both Nova Twins and Doechii are confirmed to perform at the festival this year, playing Woodsies and headlining West Holts, respectively.
The Spotify Singles also arrive on the heels of their recently released tracks “Piranha”, “Soprano”, and “Monsters”, taken from their hotly anticipated third album, Parasites & Butterflies, out August 29th via Marshall Records. Pre-save here!
