Brooklyn-based indie-rock artist Kaneb Andrews has dropped a bold new single, “Midnight Medicine,” a gritty, full-band anthem about chasing connection, even when you know it might hurt.
Released May 9, the track blends indie rock, Americana, and a touch of alt-pop, delivering a raw, energetic sound that’s a departure from Andrews’ softer acoustic work. With distorted guitars and lyrics that blur the line between lust and addiction, Midnight Medicine is about letting go, taking risks, and feeling something again—even if it’s messy.
“It’s about wanting to feel alive,” Kaneb explains. “Even if it means chasing trouble for the night.”
The song was written during his time at NYU’s Songwriting Program, where he challenged himself to create something simple, loud, and outside his comfort zone. After a few rewrites, he found a sound that felt like a more honest version of himself, less polished, more instinctive.
Midnight Medicine follows his 2024 acoustic EP All Verona to Me and leads into a series of full-band singles coming in 2025. Fresh off a successful West Coast tour and known for standout NYC shows at venues like Heaven Can Wait and Mercury Lounge, Kaneb is showing he can do more than just heartfelt ballads, he can rock, too.
