Molchat Doma Present “Belaya Polosa (The Crystal Method & Future Funk Squad Remix)”

Last fall, Belarusian post-punk / synth-pop group Molchat Doma released Belaya Polosa, their “gorgeously gloomy” (Los Angeles Magazine) new album via Sacred Bones. Today, they further expand the album’s sonic world with a remix of the title track by The Crystal Method & Future Funk Squad. These electronic legends reimagine the original with a full-throttle, genre-blending twist. The remix bridges coldwave and post-punk aesthetics with the gritty, high-energy pulse of breakbeat and electro. “Belaya Polosa (The Crystal Method & Future Funk Squad Remix)” is the first of more thrilling remixes to come from Molchat Doma in the coming weeks.

“I have been a fan of The Crystal Method since I was a little boy discovering the Need For Speed series,” says the band’s Raman Kamahortsau. “‘Born Too Slow’ was the first song I heard and it blew my mind! ‘Vegas’ is still one of my favorites. I am so happy that Scott agreed to collaborate with us, it is a great honor for us.”

Last month, Molchat Doma shared an animated visual accompaniment for “Beznadezhnyy Waltz,” a standout instrumental from Belaya Polosa. The haunting stopmotion video was created by Selmer Kastalje and embraces the melancholy mood of the piece, bringing to life a snowy, dreamlike world.

Earlier this year, Molchat Doma embarked on an extensive North American tour in support of Belaya Polosa which saw them stop by KEXP for an electrifying live session. The band’s world tour continues this summer – all upcoming dates are listed below and tickets are on sale now.
