Michael Lazar Releases Dreamy New Single “Daydreaming” Ahead of Upcoming EP

Miami-based singer, songwriter, and producer Michael Lazar is back with a brand-new single, “Daydreaming”—the title track from his upcoming EP, Daydreaming, set to drop on July 25, 2025.

With its wistful piano lines and lush, atmospheric synths, “Daydreaming” paints a vivid picture of love imagined rather than lived. It’s a reflective, emotionally rich track that showcases Lazar’s growth as an artist and his signature blend of cinematic production and introspective songwriting.

Lazar took the reins on the entire project, writing, performing, and producing all six tracks himself. The EP was mastered by Michael Banks of UEFO, who also worked on Lazar’s 2021 debut album 51/49—a collaboration that helped define the warm, emotionally resonant sound fans have come to expect from Lazar’s work.

The visual world of Daydreaming is just as thoughtful. Lazar teamed up with photographer Dennis Dean to create artwork inspired by vintage photography and dreamlike natural elements. One standout detail: monarch butterflies feature prominently in the imagery—raised by Lazar in his own backyard, a ritual he began after the passing of his mother.

“Raising butterflies became something really healing for me,” Lazar shares. “It’s a lot like making music — you start with something small and fragile, and slowly watch it grow into something beautiful.”

The single “Daydreaming” is out now on all major streaming platforms. The full EP arrives July 25 — mark your calendars!
