Au/Ra Returns With Powerful New Single ‘BLAH’ OUT NOW/ Announces UK shows

After a three-year hiatus, genre-defying alt-pop artist Au/Ra makes a bold and emotional return with “BLAH,” released on Polydor Records, out today —a meaningful release date that also marks her birthday. The single closes Act 1 of Au/Ra’s story, capping off a formative chapter of personal growth, artistic transformation, and reckoning with the industry that has shaped her.

“BLAH” is an unfiltered outpouring of frustration and clarity, offering fans a rare look behind the curtain of Au/Ra’s journey so far—and perhaps answering lingering questions about where she’s been over the past few years. The track strips back her usual metaphors to reveal something more vulnerable and direct: an artist confronting her past and reclaiming her voice.

BLAH is a song I wrote to let out my frustrations. I’ve been pursuing my career since I was 13, and I feel like up to now, everything I’ve gone through has been like music industry finishing school. I love writing in riddles and metaphors, but I wanted this song to be more angry, raw, and straightforward than anything I’ve done before.”

The song’s visceral energy is brought to life in its striking music video. Directed by Kassandra Powell, it sees Au/Ra in a boxing ring—bloodied, bruised, and unflinching as she battles a suited figure. It’s a haunting metaphor for survival, resilience, and reclaiming her power after navigating the highs and lows of a turbulent time.

“BLAH” is both a statement and a reset—a reflection on where she’s been, and a signal of where she’s headed next, with much more to come from Au/Ra in 2025.

15th September – YES, Manchester

16th September – Camden Assembly, London

18th September – Berlin, Kantine Am Bergahin
