Eden Cami Breaks Hiatus With New Single ‘If You Want’

Since her debut in 2019, Eden Cami has climbed from strength to strength and has a string of diverse and captivating singles to her name. After taking a three-year break, she finally makes a powerful return to the indie-pop scene with her latest release ‘If You Want’. Cami’s journey has been one of defying expectations since day one. Born into a patriarchal society, her passion for music was met with resistance, and after losing her voice to surgery at eighteen and having to relearn how to speak, Eden has continually been breaking barriers. Now with the release of her debut EP on the horizon, Eden is setting herself up for an exciting year of new music.

Cami’s pop enthused release effortlessly blends shimmering melodies with groove-driven basslines. The lyrics, gracefully switching between English and Arabic, are complemented by Eden’s ethereal vocals, recounting themes of self reflection and determination. ‘If You Want’ draws inspiration from the thirteenth century poet Rumi, and fuses together Western percussion with Eastern philosophies. The dynamic new track is set to solidify Eden as a compelling pop artist.

Diving into her latest single, Cami shares “I’ve always been captivated by poetry, especially how so much meaning can be distilled into just a few lines. The first time I encountered a translation of Rumi’s poem, it was in Arabic, and it immediately resonated with me. It felt like exactly what I needed to hear at that point in my life. Now, as I release this song after a long break, it feels even more relevant.”
