The Head and the Heart today release a new single off of their forthcoming sixth studio album, Aperture, out May 9 on their new label home Verve Forecast. “Blue Embers” is the fourth track released from the album and can be heard here.
“Everything is overwhelming.
Everything is overwhelming.
Everything always feels like it’s always coming to an end.
And the feeling that it’s all ending seems never ending.
But it does end. And then things open up. But before it opens, it seems like it won’t.
Like it couldn’t possibly ever open up.
But then if you hold on long enough, it does.
There’s always something inviting you to the next thing. Even when you’ve convinced yourself that it would never do that. Not for you. But then it does. When you let it do what it has to do to you. And when you do, it just keeps opening and opening over and over until the thing that seemed never ending is only a memory. So when you’re thinking that it’s never gonna end, remember that it does. And it can be beautiful, if you let it be.
Blue Embers was written in that never-ending, always-ending space. If it weren’t for music, that space would be harder and harder to see through. And if you’re in there right now, know that you’re not alone, that it does open up, and that there’s beauty on the other side you can’t even imagine. Just hold on. ”
