Were there any unexpected inspirations that shaped the journey of “ALL DAY EVERYDAY”? Where did you pull inspiration from?
No not really, I was trying to come up with something, and I was stuck, then got the idea to just write about what I do on a daily basis, as well as what I need to do to always improve. That was the inst\piration.
You were involved with the production process from start to finish—talk to us a little bit about your experience producing this track.
I layed down the chords first and that just hit me, then the drums, and from that point on it became easy like ti took a life of its own, I built all the arrangements around the verses and chorus, and then it was the detail work adding the drops and fill sounds that don’t play throughout the whole song, but it’s those things that make a song more impactful.
What role did vulnerability and authenticity play in crafting the tone of “ALL DAY EVERYDAY”?
I don’t know about vulnerability, but as far as authenticity, it was something I took pride in. Creating something that doesn’t sound like anything else but still keeping the authenticity of hip hop. Hip Hop always sets the tone when it comes to rap.
You worked with renowned filmmaker Rock Davis on this music video—how did you two collaborate to bring your vision to fruition?
This is actually the second video I’ve created with Rock Davis. He directed my other video called Welcome to New York. It was easy to collaborate with Rock Davis. As soon as he heard the song he immediately had an idea, It was really easy to get the vision down. A lot of the filming was done on the fly, and the footage just worked.
How did filming in a city influence the vibe and visuals of the “ALL DAY EVERYDAY” music video? What motivated you to shoot here?
I basically just picked a location that Rock Davis was familiar with, His Home town of Newark, that made it easier and quicker to get the footage that we needed.
Why do you think this song will resonate deeply with listeners? How do you hope listeners will feel after listening?
Everybody has a daily life, and hustle in some way shape or form to survive, that alone makes the song relatable. I just want the listener to be entertained and motivated after hearing the song, from the hustler to the student studying for a test, to maintain that consistent grind.
What feedback or reactions from listeners have been the most meaningful to you?
It’s simple for me, when someone lets me know that my music motivated them in some way shape or fashion.
Are there any elements of “ALL DAY EVERYDAY” that you plan to expand upon in future projects?
Maybe, I haven’t really thought of that. Every song pretty much takes an identity of its own. Maybe re-sampling it and creating something new from it in the future, who knows that’s something to think about if I’m ever blocked creatively.
