Edward Mena, The Venezuelan singer that made History performing at a Presidential Event 

The artistic magnitude of the renowned Edward Mena is no secret to anyone. He has not only captured the hearts of thousands of fans worldwide but has also made history as the first Venezuelan-American artist to sing the United States national anthem at a presidential event by invitation of the White House.

From an early age, Mena felt the call of music. At 17, he represented Venezuela in international festivals, achieving significant victories that marked the beginning of his career. His talent has led him to share the stage with great icons such as Guadalupe Pineda, Tania Libertad, Yuri, Lupita Ferrer, Danny Rivera, Paloma San Basilio, and Soledad Bravo, among others.

His major professional breakthrough came in 2018 when he had the opportunity to work with the legendary producer Humberto Gatica in Los Angeles. Together, they brought his first EP, Emociones, to life—a project that defined his style and solidified his name in the music industry.

Adding to his achievements in the industry, Mena had the honor of performing the national anthem of his second homeland, the United States. He highlights that “one of the most significant moments of his career was in 2019 when he was invited to perform the U.S. National Anthem before then-President Donald Trump, becoming the first Venezuelan American artist to do so.” This news went viral after being published by the globally recognized La Patilla.

Recognition at the White House

Later, in 2023, his talent and commitment to the migrant community led him to be recognized at the White House, where President Joe Biden honored him as one of 80 exemplary Venezuelans in the U.S. during the first-ever Venezuela Day celebration.

In 2024, Edward Mena continued to shine brightly. He was nominated for the World Entertainment Awards in the Best Vocal Performance category, thanks to his first Italian single, Senza Catene, a production by Hildemaro Álvarez and mastered in London by Nick Burchall, renowned for his work on major Hollywood soundtracks.

With a noble heart, always supporting others, this extraordinary artist not only showcases a powerful voice but also embodies the famous saying, “Do good without looking at whom.” His splendid vocal and stage presence have catapulted him as one of Latin America’s great voices. His career continues to rise, excelling in the ballad and bolero genres—musical styles that deeply move audiences.

This year, Edward Mena is preparing great surprises for his fans, with possible tours across various countries while working on new productions that will undoubtedly make headlines. He continues his successful journey in the music industry, collaborating with outstanding maestros, including Hildemaro Álvarez, a Grammy-nominated producer and a key figure in the creation of diverse musical works.
