Following her technical training, Taya apprenticed at Blue Gemini Salon, earning her Journeyman Red Seal Hairstyling certificate in 2018.
In 2021, she took a bold step by relocating to Kelowna, BC, where her marketing skills and social media savvy allowed her to secure a month’s worth of bookings before even arriving. This success led to the realization of her long-held dream: opening her own salon, Cove Salon, in September 2022.
Expanding her influence, Taya ventured into hair education in 2023, sharing her expertise in effortless blonding techniques. Her educational programs, both online and in-person, have since reached hundreds of stylists globally, cementing her status as a respected figure in the hairstyling industry.

When it comes to hair competitions, Taya Tkachuk is no stranger to the winner’s circle.
In both 2022 and 2023, Taya found herself in the Top 25 Blondes category at the prestigious Behind The Chair OneShot Awards. If you think that’s no big deal, consider this: she was competing against over 25,000 entries from around the world. That’s like being in the top 0.1% of blonding experts globally.
But Taya’s not just a one-trick pony. She’s also been recognized for her work with platinum hair, snagging a Top 100 spot in that category in both 2022 and 2023, and she was also placed in the Top 100 for Shag/Mullet styles in 2022.
And she didn’t stop there.
In 2024, she landed in the Top 100 for Blondes, Warm Balayage, Cool Balayage and long cut categories.
