Make Ketchup-Flavored Candy

There should be ketchup candy. Maybe just a flavor of jelly bean. That would be sufficient, I imagine. Too much of a ketchup candy might be excessive. There are popcorn-flavored jelly beans, and ketchup makes a ton of sense in the candy realm.

The thing about ketchup is that it mostly just tastes like sugar. Seriously. You’ve have tomatoes, right? You know what they taste like. The primary flavor of ketchup is not tomato. It’s sugar. Sugar and maybe a bit of vinegar. Ketchup is pretty sweet as a flavor profile. It’s the sweetest condiment, even sweeter than sweet relish.

Given that, why not make ketchup-flavored candy. It wouldn’t strike people as odd, because they are used to ketchup being sweet. Now, mustard-flavored candy? That would be a bit of a stretch. You could probably do a sweet pickle flavor of jelly beans as well. Maybe the trick is to do a hamburger or hot dog flavored variety pack. That would make for a fun bit of novelty.
