Liane Grant is a powerhouse actor, play wright, and producer, drawing in audiences and leaving them breathless. Whether owning the stage in an Off-Broadway production or creating an award-winning play, Liane’s journey flows through passion, versatility, and plain grit. In New York, she breathed life into unforgettable characters in Pied Piper at Theatre 154 under Michole Biancosino’s direction. Her role as Meredith in Half Me, Half You at Open Jar Studios and the Wild Project proved her ability to dive deep into emotional storytelling, connecting with audiences on a profound level and earning her well-deserved critical acclaim.
Her reach extends across the Atlantic, where she has enthralled London audiences in such works as Victims at Drayton Arms Theatre (under the direction of Ben Kavanagh) and Chance of Rain at Etcetera Theatre (directed by Leah Fogo). This is an actress who nailed the character of Madam Secretary in Body Politic at White Bear Theatre. But what is so impressive about Liane’s performances, is her ability to move seamlessly between the contemporary and the classical, such as in her effortless handling of Shakespearean drama with stunning takes on Twelfth Night and Richard II.
Regionally, she has been in Sister Aloysius in Doubt, and Else in Festen at Cambridge’s ADC Theatre. She made an impact with her performance at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in A Happy Side (As Well), showcasing versatility in her acting. And just as with film, there is no faltering when it comes to the charisma of Liane. Bringing gravitas and authenticity to leading roles in Gypo and The Parasite, she even demonstrated her range as an NYPD officer in a commercial for McDonald’s directed by Guy Manwaring.
As a playwright, she writes from the heart. Half Me, Half You won the Fresh Fruit Festival Prize for Outstanding Play in 2018 and is now catching the eyes of Broadway producers after a buzzworthy 2024 industry reading. Other writing credits, such as Chance of Rain and Disney Pyjamas & Mini, further demonstrate her ability to tap into the deepness of the human character.
In 2015, Liane co-founded RoL’n Productions, a company dedicated to uplifting women-identifying creatives. From Taken in Marriage to SPECTRA, she creates consistent spaces for authentic, impactful storytelling. The training at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and the University of Cambridge aided the foundation for her craft to this day. Her skill set runs a wide gamut, from mastering dialects to bringing Shakespeare alive.
With Broadway knocking and a feature film set in Barbados on the way, Liane is just getting started. Her passion for storytelling and her fearless approach to the arts make her a force to watch in today’s creative world.
