On 20th November, the United States Department of Justice and the US Securities and Exchange Commission issued an indictment and a civil complaint in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York against chairman Gautam Adani, his nephew Sagar Adani, and one of the key executives of the Adani Group, Vneet Jain. These charges were related to allegations of security fraud and violation of SEC guidelines which might have led to misleading statements in the bond offering documents of AGEL concerning anti-corruption and anti-bribery policies.
