Teasing audiences with an acclaimed set of teaser singles throughout the year, Dominique Way unveils her long-awaited debut collection of songs. ‘Sprig’ is an exploration into self-discovery and liberation, finding itself as an experimental slice of alt-pop songwriting.
Right from the offset, the warm nature of ‘Sprig’ is innately present. Through the delicate synths and heart-wrenching arpeggios, an excitable sense of emotional craftsmanship is placed on display. Writing from the heart, the EP stands its ground as a masterful collection of songs, building on the success of Asphalt – released earlier in the year – the EP is a natural extension of Dominique Ways relatable and excitable artistry.
Speaking about the EP, she dives in “This EP called for a lot of inner exploration as I experimented more than ever with my sound and with art in general. It was also the first time I accepted my emotions and allowed myself to free them through songwriting. Creating ‘Sprig’ pushed me to a place I didn’t expect, but in a way always knew and felt I wanted to be in. I learned so much from the relationships around me and my own while telling these stories and for that, I will forever be grateful. I will always hold this project close to my heart and I’m so thankful for all the people who contributed to make it what it is.”
