Victor Sebastian is back with his unique brand of vintage-indie pop as he gears up to release his latest hazy offering ‘LA Sober’. Charging forward with a powerful creative backbone, the new single marks Sebastian’s third release of the year.
Dynamic synth chops set the track off into the airwaves. ‘LA Sober’ sports a laid-back, funked-up, lo-fi groove as its anthemic chorus spills out into the airwaves. Exploring elation of joy whilst yearning sees the track blend rich 60s songcraft with a reverberated contemporary charm. Taking a sun-kissed melody, the track feels equal parts euphoric and upbeat. The track takes its title from the Californian slang for being high without drinking, capturing the paradox of paradise with something missing.
Speaking about the single, Victor explains “LA Sober came from feeling in the middle of living my dream but realising I left my sanity somewhere along the way with the person I left behind. I was in LA, chasing this dream, but it felt like juggling torches on a tightrope. Exciting but terrifying without a safety net.”
