Since releasing his debut album in 2015, Cian Finn has been turning heads across Ireland, the UK and Europe as a creative force to be reckoned with. Returning for 2024, Finn unveils his latest album ‘What’s Next’.
Offering raw authenticity and introspective reflection, the album stands its ground as a dynamic, boundary-pushing effort. Fresh off the back of supporting UB40 in the summer, Cian Finn is one of the most original music-makers in Ireland. Lacing his sound with reggae, hip-hop and Irish traditional folk, ‘What’s Next’ sports a strong wave of emotion across every carefully measured beat, chord and groove.
Commenting on the album, Cian Finn explains, “It’s a retrospective record for me, mostly with tracks like Grá Mór & All I Wanna Do” which look back on my formative and influential years in Galway. There is a lot covered throughout the project theme-wise, and that is reflected sonically also, crossing sounds of hip-hop, dub, electronica, reggae, traditional Irish music and spoken word. It’s also of course a project stamped in time by current events, which is very important to me. A snapshot of the present, for the future.”
