Casey Carmichael is back with the release of his latest single ‘Little Birds’, his first release since ‘Come Home, My Love’ back in the summer. Giving his trademark blues-folk aesthetic a heartfelt new outing, the new track is an ode to his two-year-old daughter.
A gentle guitar line cuts across the soundwaves as Carmichael’s authentic delivery paves the way for his emotive lyricism. The traditional folk soundscape is given a contemporary perspective, combining powerful choruses with quick, catchy melodies.
Speaking about the close-hearted nature of the track, Casey Carmichael dives in, “This song was inspired by our two year old daughter. She was only three months old when I wrote it, but I was already fearful of her growing up too fast. But since then it has been beautiful watching her learn and grow. She has all that she needs inside of her to spread her wings; my wife and I are so proud to be her parents.”
