Kleio unveil indie-rock enthused new single ‘the avenue’

2024 is proving to be a momentous year for Irish outfit kleio as they release their latest single ‘the avenue’. The band have been on an astonishing run of form since outputting acclaimed single ‘yoko’ back in March, quickly turning heads nationwide.

A synth-led intro sees the band peer into the soundwaves with a retrospective guitar riff. Slowly building tension over time, the track continues to grow with heartfelt lyrics and emphatic licks to build a climactic chorus. Telling tales of romantic maturity, the single reinforces the group’s anthemic approach to songwriting with their huge sound and particular attention to detail. With its fierce indie-rock toplines, the single is sure to cement the group as a creative force to be reckoned with.

Speaking about the single, lead-songwriter Luke shares, “I think The Avenue was a big step for the band in terms of songwriting. We usually stick to the classic song structure. We didn’t start writing the song thinking we’d create such a cinematic piece but everything just fell into place, it was one of those songs that wrote itself. I think when we finished writing it we said to ourselves that we’d never written a song like it. The avenue feels like a matured version of our sound while maintaining much of the same themes as our previous releases. It’s a song that myself and Alex are incredibly proud of.”
