Black Bordello – White Bardo
Black Bordello’s second album White Bardo embodies a state of welcome oblivion for the band’s founder and songwriter Sienna Bordello. These songs mark a point of surrender; to the laws of nature, to love as an unquenchable sovereign entity, to profound notions of divinity, mythology and quantum physics, to the rush of mortality. Moreover, on White Bardo Black Bordello looks way beyond what we encounter at face value. Across nine tracks, the band adopt a more crisp and primal guise, bottlenecking Sienna’s seething, macabre lyricism into more potent, piercing outpours.
I’MMORTAL – “KILLED U IN A DREAM” (biskuwi Remix)
DJ and producer biskuwi (Alice Efe) released a remix of I’MMORTAL’s single “KILLED U IN A DREAM” on October 4th through Immortality. Premiering on DJ Mag Spain, this remix follows a version by LA producer Droid Bishop. Known for her dark, ambient melodies and minimalist artistry, biskuwi has captivated audiences at renowned venues like Sonnemond Sterne and Harry Klein, earning support from industry giants such as Richie Hawtin and Solomun. Her tracks frequently hit the Beatport Top 10 and feature on Spotify’s editorial playlists. This remix transforms I’MMORTAL’s dark pop into melodic techno, blending haunting atmospheres with pulsing basslines for an entrancing dancefloor experience. Biskuwi aims to retain the original’s emotional depth while making it more danceable.
Millie Gibson – “Ripple”
Alternative R&B artist Millie Gibson, originally from Virginia and now based in New York City, returns with her first release in over two years, the new single “Ripple”. Known for her soulful fusion of synths, keys, guitar, and rhythmic percussion, Millie’s music often incorporates modern jazz elements, creating a captivating groove-heavy sound. “Ripple” showcases her signature neo-soul style with smooth vocals, jazzy chords, and dynamic grooves, crafting a relaxed, introspective atmosphere. Millie describes the song as a reflection of her journey through depression, infused with hope for positive change. Since her debut EP Own Drum in June 2022, she has performed in New York City and London, including opening for Ego Ella May, while continuing to explore deep emotional landscapes in her music.
Furlow – The Garden
Rockwall, TX native and multitalented artist Trey Gaddis, known as Furlow, has released his highly anticipated album, The Garden. With years of experience in Dallas studios, Furlow blends classic influences and contemporary styles, drawing inspiration from artists like Post Malone, Russ, and Mac Miller. This 12-track hip-hop/rap album showcases his talents as both a producer and performer, featuring collaborations with various Texas artists, including standout tracks like “I-35 Cypher” with Cush With a C, QthaElevated, and J Soulja, as well as “The Reaper” with QthaElevated. Furlow aims to highlight Texas’ abundance of talent, believing that hip-hop should be a collaborative effort for all artists to thrive together, making The Garden a collection of music that is honest, vulnerable, and engaging.
