Tel Aviv, Israel-based indie pop trio RGB has released their funky new single “Write About You” and announced their sophomore full-length album, A Place For Lovers, will be released Friday, September 13th. “Write About You” is a happy tune celebrating life, passion, and love, all leading to exciting inspiration – PRESS HERE to listen and PRESS HERE to watch the official music video.
“‘Write About You’ captures the essence of summer romance and playful vibes,” shares RGB. “It’s a flirty, feel-good song that we hope soundtracks those sun-soaked days and balmy nights – it’s the perfect addition to your summer playlists.”
Of their new album, RGB adds, “A Place For Lovers is a story about moving from darkness to light and embracing all the colors of life. It conveys the understanding that to truly enjoy life, one must embrace the full spectrum of emotions, with all the ups and downs along the journey. Each song on the album is meant to represent a different emotion and energy, and by the end of listening, one experiences a complete journey through all the feelings.”
The songs on A Place For Lovers are all part of an ongoing heart play, an intimate, sometimes exhilarating, sometimes melancholy reflection of the ups and downs of Roy and Noi’s personal love story. From track to track, the narrative throughout the 12-song collection is structured like a book, following a pattern of exposition, conflict, climax, resolution, and epilogue. A Place For Lovers includes RGB’s recent single “iCare” and the previously released “Unhappy.” “iCare” is an edgy, percussive song that criticizes the numbness of the world to the pain of others while capturing the essence of fighting the demons outside and within. On “Unhappy,” spirited, intoxicating rhythms belie the narrative of trying to run away from sadness only to realize it can’t be escaped – it will always be there even on visits to one’s “happy places.” See below for full track listing. In conjunction with their music, RGB is using their multi-media visual platform GTV (Green TV) to feature lighthearted visuals and whimsical, comical, dreamy and playful videos, connecting to the notion of being a kid falling asleep in front of a TV so that the onscreen images and the images of one’s dreams fuse together. Comprised of singer/songwriters Roy Bartal and Noi Agam and keyboardist/producer Alon Kenett, RGB uses their fresh elegant pop vibe to spread love, joy and happiness while also acknowledging that it’s okay to embrace life’s dark stages and sadness as a key part of their journey back to the light. The fully independent trio writes, creates, and produces all of their music and videos. Beyond the generally upbeat and optimistic vibes of the music, another element driving RGB’s creative aesthetic is that their name is an acronym for Red, Green, Blue – the main colors of the subpixels on our computer and smartphone screens, set to various intensities to create all the color combinations that we see. Inspired by Roy’s background in graphic design, the name reflects the fact that, as he says, “you can adjust the brightness of each color in the pixel, which changes the color of the pixel itself, just as we can adjust the vibe of our music according to our feeling at a given time and not be chained to a specific genre, mood or ‘color’.” From the start, RGB’s slogan has been “Adding color to your life.”
RGB debuted in 2020 with their EP, In Sight, and released their first full-length album, The Art of Passing Time, in 2021. The goal with their original music is to make people feel good and comforted – providing a musical hug where listeners feel better afterwards. Ultimately, the three-piece created A Place For Lovers to be a special place to connect people, a sweet escape where everyone can love regardless of race, color, or gender and spread messages of positivity.
