Graffick shares intricate melodies of the fourth album ‘Spectra’

From the Southern California city of San Diego emerges Graffick, an artist whose passion for production, composition and music academia has been held at the centre of his music for over a decade. Going by Graffick, the man behind the talent is Blaine Counter, whose self-taught attitude and experimental tendencies have led to a constantly evolving sound rooted in electronic sound design.

Graffick’s latest project, his fourth LP, Spectra, sees his abilities reach yet another high. The balance between transcendent ethereality and high-energy arrangements is an emotive listen, the heartfelt, otherworldly feelings portrayed through frequency, and cut by tight, dynamic drums. There are technical influences from across the dance music spectrum, but a sense of spirituality remains present throughout, the eleven tracks taking on an art-first, commerciality-second approach. Graffick carves a clear pathway through the project, a vividly whole listening experience, best heard in its entirety, but any individual moment is equally as mesmerising.

Graffick adds, ”The concept behind Spectra is that our life experiences exist on a spectrum and that our perception of these events defines how we each see the world.”
