Tell us about yourself, how did you get into designing and owning your current brand?
I am Isabelle Kratz, a 17-year-old international model and entrepreneur, and the creative force behind Belle Model Co and Belle Le Chic. My journey into the world of fashion and brand ownership began with a deep passion and desire to create something unique. Growing up, I was always fascinated by the art of design and the power of personal style. In 2020, I was invited as a model to walk for six designers in New York Fashion Week, including House of Barretti. While overseas, my mum Jasmine and I found ourselves shopping in the fashion district for formal gowns for multiple international pageants I had coming up. Unfortunately, those opportunities were canceled due to the pandemic, but a new opportunity was born. We identified a gap in the market for occasion wear stores and brands in Australia and grew Belle Le Chic. Once the world opened back up, we were offered the chance to bring our designs and Australian models to showcase in International Fashion Weeks. To support this, Belle Model Co was created to coach models of all ages and abilities, helping them gain confidence in their walks, posing, and honing their skills. I have won multiple pageantry titles and walked in five seasons of International Fashion Weeks, showcasing my brand, Belle Le Chic on the global runways of New York, Milan, and Paris. This year, I graduate high school as an external graduate from Chancellor State College and will be completing my first year of my Bachelor of Communication at university. Through my modeling school, I plan to build the modeling industry into a larger empire with emerging talent.
What is one goal you hope to accomplish over the next 6 months?
One of my primary goals over the next six months is to successfully complete my first year of university as a Journalism and Fashion Major. Balancing the demands of higher education with my ongoing projects has been challenging yet incredibly fulfilling. Additionally, I am proud to be graduating high school as an external graduate, which required a great deal of discipline and self-motivation. By focusing on my studies and continuing to engage in community outreach, I aim to set a strong foundation for my future endeavors both academically and personally.

We hear you love helping and giving back. Can you tell us more about current community outreach and projects you’re working on?
I am deeply passionate about giving back to the community and am currently involved in several outreach projects. One of the most exciting initiatives is my participation in the Australia Galaxy Pageants. This May I competed for the title of Miss Teen Galaxy Australia 2024, and came out 2nd Runner Up. This platform not only allows me to showcase my talents and aspirations but also provides a unique opportunity to promote social causes and engage in charitable activities. As apart of the community initiative, I volunteer for Batyr, an organisation dedicated to improving the mental health of young Australians. Through Batyr, they hold programs and workshops that aim to destigmatize mental health issues and encourage open conversations among youth. These experiences have been incredibly rewarding, allowing me to contribute positively to my community and inspire others to do the same.
Who is someone in your age demo (celebrity or person) that also inspires you ?
At my age of 17 years old, one inspiring figure in the industry is Kaia Gerber. As the daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford, Kaia has made a name for herself through her talent and hard work, walking for top designers like Chanel, Versace, and Marc Jacobs. Her dedication to her craft and her ability to balance a career with her education makes her a role model for aspiring young fashion entrepreneurs. Kaia’s influence extends beyond the runway, as she also engages in charitable work and advocates for important social issues, proving that young people can make a significant impact in the fashion industry and beyond.
What is your best advice to other teens looking to start a brand?
Starting a brand as a teen can be both exciting and rewarding. My best advice is firstly identifying your passion and finding a niche that fills a market gap. Once you have figured out what your goals and aspirations are for the brand you want to create, develop a strong brand identity with a unique name, logo, and consistent visual style, and leverage social media to promote your brand, engage with your audience, and build a community. Remember to start small and always be open to learning, growing and gathering feedback from other entrepreneurs and idols in the industry
