Chicago country duo Blue Rose has dropped their latest single, “Somethin’ Good,” an acoustic country track that provides an uplifting message: the sun will rise again. “Think new country with an old soul.” The single features acoustic instrumentals, provided by Marcus Gebauer, and meaningful lyrics that illustrate a difficult time in their life and feeling hopeful for the future. Reminiscent of Kacey Musgraves, this song is a windows down, summer driving anthem. Stream “Somethin’ Good” on all digital platforms now.
Pulling inspiration from genres including Americana and classic rock, Blue Rose is a country duo featuring songwriting partners Jori Griffith and Marcus Gebauer, focusing on uplifting audiences with their music. The catchy yet, simple instrumentation of “Somethin’ Good” allows the listener to really focus on the meaning behind the lyrics. “I wrote this song during a tough period in my life when I felt down and alone like I couldn’t catch a break,” explains Griffith. “The message of the song is one of hope – a universal ‘we’ve all been there’ and that the sun always does rise again.” Evoking a sense of sentimentality, “Somethin’ Good” was recorded at Rax Trax Recording in Chicago. The song was produced and mastered by Noam Wallenberg.
Blue Rose is based out of Chicago. Their original music is described as ‘relatable emotive story-telling with an edge.’ They write what they feel and feel what they write, hoping to inspire listeners to connect and come along for the ride. While rooted in the country genre, Blue Rose incorporates elements of Americana, classic rock, and indie-pop to create their own brand of nostalgia.
“Somethin’ Good” is the message and feeling that country music is in need of. Their upcoming album, Blue Moon, is set to be released in the late summer of 2024. In the meantime, stream “Somethin’ Good,” follow Blue Rose on Instagram @blue_rose_band, and visit BlueRoseTheBand.com.
