This type is most people’s favourite, as it is thin and takes up much less space than other hangers. This means it can store many more pieces than, for example, wooden hangers. Furthermore, it does not allow the pieces to slip, which is ideal for more delicate blouses or tops. In any case, this hanger is suitable for any type of clothing: shirts, blouses, trousers, t-shirts, etc.
They come in different colours, which is a plus, as you can match the colour of the hangers to the colour of the interior of your wardrobe. Personally, I have all my hangers in velvet (except for my coats and jacket hangers, which are made of wood). However, I have them in black, which can sometimes be annoying as they shed a bit of fur, and I have to Dust more frequently to catch that fluff. For this reason, if you choose this type of hanger, I suggest you choose light colours, such as these ivory ones.

You can even buy the clamps separately and apply them to hangers you already have, as is the case with these ones I’ve already used on velvet hangers.
Acrylic or Plastic Hanger
Before switching to velvet ones, the hangers I used were made of plastic. They save space and are sometimes considered cheap hangers concerning the cost of others. However, the plastic hanger has a tendency to deform over time, especially if used to hang heavier items, which is why the plastic hanger should be used for lighter items with handles. Acrylic ones are more durable and aesthetically much more beautiful and can be used to hang any type of clothing.
Metal Hanger
This type of hanger is resistant if it is of good quality. Forget the metal ones in laundry rooms, which are made of wire. These hangers don’t last long and can damage fabrics, as well as rusting easily. The metal ones, of good quality, can be used to hang any type of clothes and save a lot of space as they are quite thin. Ideal for placing items on the drying rack to dry.
Children’s Hanger
These are smaller-size hangers, ideal for baby’s clothes. They come in different materials: plastic, velvet, wood, satin, and even perfume. If you want to hang your child’s clothes, don’t hesitate to buy baby clothes hangers, as adult hangers are not suitable for organising children’s clothes. They are too big and will deform the clothes. One tip that I always find useful to share is to use children’s hangers to hang adult pants. Because they are smaller, they are perfect for fitting pants, which on an adult hanger tend to fall to one side.
