Hailing as an interdisciplinary student from Monmouth University, Azure Kai’s music can be defined as a mesmerizing blend of seductive hooks and captivating lyrics accompanied by a kaleidoscope of characters that, in turn, densely populated her musical landscape. Her debut single, “Offguard,” earned much praise and a prominent feature in her university’s esteemed online publication ‘The Outlook.’ Her follow-up singles, “Gotta Get the Girl,” “Fine Wine,” and “The Cakepop Song,” released later the same year, received acclaim from a variety of media outlets, including ‘We Write About Music,’ ‘Honk Magazine,’ ‘Certified Bop,’ ‘Stereo Stickman,’ ‘Tunepical’ and ‘A&R Factory,’ that commented on the distinctive melodies and instrumentation present. Her latest independent single, “On the Bus,” tells the story of a male protagonist’s surprised reaction when he finds out that his crush saved him a seat on the bus after their middle school dinner dance.
Upon building songs with her producer, Azure Kai consistently credits her creativity to the works of Micheal Jackson, Ne-Yo, Bobby Brown, Chris Brown, *NSYNC, and Justin Timberlake, all of which she proudly categorizes as her prominent musical influences she seeks to emulate.
Through their extensive and versatile discography, these artists continually encourage her to hone her own craft with her chosen stylistic preferences.
Currently, Kai hopes to offer her listeners an immersive experience that encourages them to tap into their imagination while absorbing themselves in her melodic stories.
