How Medina Rustani’s Hospitality is Bolstering Restaurant Success

In today’s world, restaurants are one of the most popular ways to spend time with friends and family. Enjoying a fine meal while sitting at a spotless table, receiving kind service from a waiter or waitress, and not having to clean up afterward makes for a fun and restful meal. 

Despite their popularity, many people forget about the hard work put into developing and maintaining restaurants, and even fewer take it upon themselves to oversee the growth of such delightful locations.

However, Medina Rustani is an exception to this trend. As a talented and passionate hospitality manager, Medina has significantly contributed to various restaurants’ success. 

From guest relations to global management

With experience in several important aspects of restaurant management, she is a highly respected and successful individual in the hospitality industry, with knowledge and skills far greater than most people’s.

Much of Medina’s success can be attributed to her constant hard work and passion for hospitality and food safety. Fascinated by the microorganisms in food, she decided to study at the Medical University in Tirana, Albania, earning both a scholarship for Senior Laboratory Technician and a Master of Science degree in Technical Laboratory.

After graduating, Medina relocated to Dubai, a world leader in hospitality and tourism. Following her move, she was a Guest Relations Specialist at the popular Doors Freestyle Grill. 

Medina handled reservations, event planning, hosting VIP events for Dubai’s elite, marketing campaigns, and all other guest relations-related tasks. This experience massively enhanced her hospitality skills and would lead her to even greater career opportunities in the near future.

In 2019, Medina started working as Training Manager and Quality Assurance for Brunch and Cake, an elite restaurant chain with almost twenty locations worldwide. 

In this position, Medina taught the rest of the staff about the brand’s mission and vision, the image it wanted to reflect on clientele, the steps of service, and the focus on detail and hospitality the employees were to incorporate into their work. 

Three years later, Medina was moved to Global Training Manager and Quality Assurance, where she was responsible for launching additional Brunch and Cake locations and ensuring their quality. She demonstrated these ideals in her job every day.

While working for Brunch and Cake, Medina made several contributions that that aided the company’s success. She helped grow the new Brunch and Cake locations in both Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt by training the employees and maintaining restaurant quality. 

When famous American model and TV personality Tyra Banks launched her ice cream brand, SMiZE & DREAM, in collaboration with Brunch and Cake, Medina was placed in charge of the training of the ice cream company’s staff, teaching them to handle the product properly, coaching them on the allergen list, and ensuring that the ice cream and customer experience would exceed clients’ expectations.

Medina was soon hired by the fast-growing food chain KITOPI as an Operations Manager for Catch 22, a popular American diner. She focused on the opening of another Catch 22 location at the Dubai Hills Mall, where she hired, trained, and evaluated staff regularly. 

Achieving excellence through kindness

Never settling for less than the greatest quality, Medina ensured that all employees were well-trained and that food was handled safely. As a result of her hard work, the location received a grade A during the Dubai Municipality inspections, cementing its popularity and success.

Many believe that a lucrative career requires ruthlessness and competitiveness, but Medina has shown that being kind and hospitable is just as effective, if not more so. Her desire to help others has enhanced her own and others’ success, establishing Medina as a reputable woman wherever she goes. With plans to start her own consulting business and work with more well-known restaurant chains in the future, Medina aims to use her dedication and enthusiasm to continue contributing to the success of others.

By combining these attributes with her knowledge and skills, Medina has established a lucrative career that most do not achieve.
