Debuting in 2023 with the energised single ‘Faith’, RAPHAEL has quickly established an inspiring narrative around his music. Themes of perseverance and confidence detail the Nigerian-born, London-based songwriter and producer’s lyricism. Alongside his music, RAPHAEL has also consistently put out interesting visuals for his singles, telling a rich overarching story.
The latest of these singles is ‘Love Is Money’, a track that, as the title suggests sees RAPHAEL speak on the fact that affection and emotion are worth far more than any material wealth. Decorating his words with glittering production filled with gorgeous pop synths and pounding rattly percussion, the artist creates a spacey atmosphere that draws the listener into a floating odyssey. Piano arpeggios, echoey drum hits and pop-tinged strings play into the high-octane determination of its all, making this another animated single for RAPHAEL.
He shares, “We are all rich in our hearts; when we have love, it’s like money in our pockets, I wanted to celebrate the real riches in life and share my experience of feeling like I am the richest man in the world because of the things in my heart.”
Adding on the video, “Music videos are an integral part of my artwork, and it helps tell my stories of my singles visually. My videos chronicle the journey of an astronaut. The Astronaut is a beacon of light and hope for diversity and inclusivity. Anyone can be an Astronaut regardless of race, gender, age, and social status. We are all the same in many ways and would all be the same at face value in a spaceman suit.”
