heavy wild, who have built a loyal core following thanks to their unique signature sound, have just released their new single ‘Dope Gods’. The track utilises ethereal atmospheres from airy synth design and pairs it with rhythmic and dark electric guitar parts for a hazy and shadowy overall soundscape. Over the top of this come dreamy vocals that deliver emotive lyricism that help the track to reach a momentous climax.
Sharing a comment on the new single, vocalist Wolfgang Harte added, “I wrote the song on the back of getting the news last January that an old friend had died. We were best friends around the ages of 15-17 and had so many crazy times wrapped up in that period of adolescence.
There was sort of this movie playing in my head of our friendship over that time and the lyrics are born out of that, reflecting on those hectic teenage days and the sadness of losing a friend.”
To coincide with the new single, heavy wild are returning to the stage across February, with further dates to be announced during March. This comes after their initial live buzz supporting Highschool in Paris and touring the UK and Ireland with Swim Deep.
