K-pop sensation NCT 127 have released their special three-track project, Be There For Me – Winter Special Single, digitally today. Arriving just in time for the holidays, the release serves as a gift from the group to their fans around the world. Be There For Me – Winter Special Single is now available on various music sites including iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify and more. Pre-order for the physical album, which will be available in the U.S. on January 26, is available HERE.
In a departure from the group’s usual style and intense performances, the songs feature warm, emotional melodies, combined with an exciting atmosphere, to showcase the charm of winter in NCT 127’s signature style. The title track, “Be There For Me,” is a pop R&B masterpiece, blending gospel organ melodies, rhythmic blues piano and brass sounds. It captures the distinctive winter mood of NCT 127. The lyrics convey a warm message to someone far away. The music video is available to watch HERE.
The second track, “Home Alone,” expresses the desire to stay alone at home during the cold winter instead of going outside, with witty lyrics and a bouncy melody which create a cheerful medium-pop song for the winter season. The third track, “White Lie,” is an emotional R&B ballad, expressing the sorrow of not being able to convey feelings or get close to a loved one, while still maintaining composure. TAEYONG and MARK participated in composing and writing the lyrics of the song, delivering emotional depth in the rap verse. The song lyrically depicts a situation where, ultimately, one has no choice but to hide their feelings and resort to a white lie.
NCT 127’s Be There For Me – Winter Special Single follows their most recent album release titled Fact Check. Released earlier this year, Fact Check – The 5th Album is NCT 127’s fourth No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart and sixth consecutive Top 10. All six placements have peaked within the top two positions of the chart. Fact Check was the follow-up to 2 Baddies – The 4th Album, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, making the group only the second K-Pop artist in history to land three albums in the Top 5. The repackage album, Ay-Yo, featured three new tracks and continued the group’s Top Album Sales chart streak.
Additionally, NCT 127 recently released their documentary series, titled NCT 127: The Lost Boys. In the series, the members talk about their childhood experiences growing up in various cities around the world, their feelings about international success and unexpected difficulties they have faced along the way. It is available to stream on Hulu in the United States.
